I’m no expert in science or archaeology and I haven’t been to many places, but the more I explore the more humbled and awestruck I am: God is THE artist. Every formation is a work of art. Every shape and texture has a purpose. Every moving plant and creature is exquisitely unique. The essence of the Almighty is illuminated in every fiber of life.
"Nature" by definition is the term encompassing all material things occurring naturally, not made my man. The environment, its processes, and systems were designed to function in harmony together, providing the place we call home. There’s an unexplainable peace and wonder I feel being in nature. We all feel it. It’s mysterious and healing. There is no coincidence in this. The presence of the Creator is available tangibly in His nature. The nature of God is majestic, powerful, creative, intentional, and peaceful.... all words we might use to describe to articulate what we experience spending time in nature.
Come and see! “Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah”
Psalm 66:1-4 ESV
Have you ever thought about the Earth itself worshipping and glorifying God by doing what it has been designed to do?
When or where have you experienced awe / unexplainable wonder in something beyond yourself in this life? How does it point directly to a divine Creator?
God’s divinity is wrapped up in OUR nature. We are the prized creation of all He has made. We were created to create! We are powerful, intelligent, artistic, and relational just like God is. We are living in our divine purpose when we use our gifts and abilities in congruency with God's ultimate design. In Exodus, the people of God were commanded to make the tabernacle and create garments and additions to this holy pursuit with detail and excellence. The Word says that the Lord filled his people with the Spirit and compelled them to use their gifts and share their talents and resources. They were not obligated or forced - they were compelled with joy and gave with zeal.
“the Lord has put skill and intelligence, with knowledge, and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs... every craftsman shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded”
Exodus 35: 31-33 &36 : 1
What is something you have created or cultivated that you are proud of? What comes naturally to you? How has this illuminated your worth and how has God used it to impact others? Reflect and rejoice in this divine gift.
We have been made with purpose. We know this to our core and there is no excuse. Beautiful things that come from us; the ability we have to make new things are are expressions of partnership with our Maker. (Whether or not we admit or believe it) He wants us to be part of HIs story. Our Father delights in you and me - His creation.
“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20
Is there someone on your heart right now who is making excuses, unwilling to accept and surrender to the divine pre-eminent Lord of Lords? Pray for them intentionally this week. Ask God how He might have in mind to partner with YOU to reach them for new life and eternal paradise.
