Seasons of Sanctification

Seasons of Sanctification

My mind is cluttered, just like the world we live in. The rest I crave, I often quench with noise, movement, and accomplishment, seeking fulfillment from productivity. I set unrealistic standards and guilt myself when I don’t live up to my mark. Can you relate?

Culture encourages us to taut our busyness and crammed schedules. We so often neglect prioritizing the things that matter most, forgetting that rest most nourishes the soul. I realized that doing more does not translate to deeper contentment. The more hustle = more anxiety.

"you are anxious and troubled about many things, but only ONE thing truly matters... (Luke 10: 41-42) "the good portion will not be taken away from you"

Jesus was never in a rush. His character was Rhythmical. His pace was slow. Scripture contains no accounts of Him being in a hurry. His posture was submitted to His Father. He was interruptible, countercultural, fully present, and available physically and emotionally to people who were overlooked and shunned.

What are you clinging to that is distracting your devotion to your Heavenly Father?

In Jesus Christ, we are fully healed by the power of the cross. Each day we walk into victoriously, yet in a present state of being healed. I have recently been awakened to that indescribable truth which really does change the narrative: As redeemed children of God, we are marked in the victory that has been won by our resurrected Savior. Can we let ourselves be in the process of healing even as we are already healed?

"So we do not lose heart, though our outward self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day... the light and momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison." (2 Cor. 4:16 - 17)

What expectation about the pace and the process of your healing journey do you need to release to your Savior?

As long as we are living, there is purpose, and work for us. As we continue to surrender, God promises to continue healing and refining our deepest parts. Let’s honor the rhythm and flow that is a natural blessing of this life. Sanctification happens in seasons. Our Heavenly Father is patient. His timing is perfect. Will we take Him at His Word?

"It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority." Acts 1:7
